Finally, the oligopoly of Bell, Telus, and Rogers is to be shaken by a new national competitor in the Canadian Wireless market, Globalive Wireless Management Corporation. Get ready for lower cellular phone plan rates Canada as the Canadian Government agrees with consumers—Wireless Prices in Canada are Too High. No longer will the likes of the Big 3 Providers collude to force Canadians to pay some of the highest cell phone rates in the world.
Shares of the Big 3 were all down on the announcement: Bell (TSX:BCE), Rogers (TSX:RCI.B), and Telus (TSX:T).
For those of you still unfamiliar with the wireless fiasco that featured Bell, Rogers, Telus and a group of other new small providers slandering Globalive and attempting to kick the company out the back door through bureaucratic nonsense you may want to catch up by reading some of the following articles:

I would like to congratulate Globalive on the decision and also congratulate Minister Tony Clement and the federal cabinet for acknowledging Canada’s wireless problems. Further, I very glad the federal government has over ruled the CRTC in what seemed to be a deal engulfed in fraud. I just hope there is an investigation into how the CRTC could make such a lousy decision aka is bribery the name of the game with Bell, Rogers, and Telus?
Globalive will be operating in Canada under the trade name Wind Mobile. For more information about the services they will be providing please take a look at their website: http://www.windmobile.ca/
